Are You In Amsterdam? Hotspot Tip You Won't Want To Miss!
I love Italian food, how about you?
Luckily, Amsterdam has a wonderful selection of Italian restaurants to choose from, and lately, I discovered this hidden gem ~ Di Bruno restaurant in Amsterdam Zuid. Opened in 2015, there’s not much conventional about this restaurant; a very colorful nontraditional interior design I didn’t expect. The menu showcases alongside traditional dishes with a modern twist, special items unique to them. The vision guiding the chef as well as the owner here is keeping it simple, using only fresh ingredients, and keeping the food exciting! The wine card was quite unique in its choices as well.
Also, no mini portions here, and may I say YaY! We’ve gotten used to it in Amsterdam and though no one talks about it, many aren’t happy with it considering the prices…it’s refreshing indeed!
Bruno and his team show typical Italian hospitality and are very accommodating. The music played is Italian, think Andrea Bocelli and Eros Ramazzotti, it definitely adds to the ambiance, it’s charming and as we the locals say, gezellig!
I first fell in love with all the color touches everywhere and coziness around me and then came the food…Absolutely delicious! They play around with the menu often featuring daily specials dishes.
You can enjoy fish, meat and amazing seafood (pasta) dishes.
Imagine for example Ossobuco, saffron-risotto, grilled asparagus with bacon and fresh truffle, pasta with salmon, spinach in white wine sauce, veal shank, fillet of lamb, spaghetti with sliced steak, pasta with clams and MORE!
The dessert menu will blow you away! Try the Sgroppino~ A drink made of lemon ice cream and wodka 5 prosecco, its made at the table! The coffee-flavored panne cotta was delish too!
