Maastricht is often referred to as the Paris of the Netherlands and for good reason; it's a university city and at the same time it's very chic and stylish, definitely not your typical student town. Maastricht is located in the South of the Netherlands and makes for a great city escape, perfect for a long weekend.

The city is packed with history and offers a variety of activities to enjoy its historical beauty. You'll find art & cultural events taking place on a weekly basis, river views, a cozy cobbled old center to explore, delicious including Michelin star restaurants, and chic shopping. The stores here put Amsterdam and other big cities to shame in a way, even the smallest of stores here send out chic stylish boutique vibes.

Oh and get this; in this area, you'll find the highest mountain sorry hill in the country! The Vaalserberg- its 322.4 meters high.

Hotel Tip: Stay at the DesignHotel! It’s uniquely designed as the name suggests, you'll find cool art objects featured throughout, it's absolutely FAB! Location is very central so everything is within walking distance. The rooms are BIG!
