Unmissable Tips To Uncover Beautiful Fuerteventura!

Unmissable Tips To Uncover Beautiful Fuerteventura!

Spring god willing is just around the corner and what better way to toast the return of Sun Rays and Flower Power than with an island getaway!

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic ocean just off the coast of Northern Africa where the weather is dry and mild year around. Sun, gorgeous beaches, crystal clear water, and breathtaking nature. This island has a wonderful selection of activities and things you can enjoy for all ages, there's something for everybody.

How to spend your time on the island:

Soak up the sun on one of these beautiful sandy beaches:

  • Playa de Cofete

  • Sotavento Beach: It’s also a surfers and kite-surfers paradise. The World Kite Surf Championship is held here every august.

  • Playa del Matorral

  • Corralejo also borders a national park which is a must visit when on the island.

TIP: My favorite beach and oh so beautiful is Isla Lobos – Regular ferry trips leave from Corralejo and it’s a short 10-minute ride to a beathtaking piece of heaven.

Spend a day out on the water!

There are many options available from sailboats to catamarans to pirate ships. Don’t forget to stay alert as dolphins often come out to play! Sunsets and evening cruises are great fun too! Drinks and lunch are normally included in the package.

Take the boat and visit near by Lanzarote, a volcanic Island nearby also known as the the Black Island.

Rent a jeep and go off-road for the day!

It’s the best way to explore Fuerteventura’s nature: Driving along the coastline to the mountains of Jandia, to the untouched beaches of Cofete, and ending the day in old Punta Jandía lighthouse, the southernmost point of the island. Here you will also find “La Colina del Amor” ~ Spanish for “the hill of love” and stunning panoramic views.

You can also explore the surroundings using a quad or buggy:

Ride the dunes and the dusty paths, enjoying the open space and silent valleys.

Enjoy the day snorkeling or diving:

Snorkel in the crystal clear waters and enjoy the beautiful world underwater: Colorful fishes, starfish and crabs, sea cucumbers and even eels have been spotted here!

TIP: A good location to snorkel is in Matas Blanca beach.

Visit the mysterious Villa Winter:

The home of a German engineer called Gustav Winter, also believed to be a Nazi spy during WW2 is located in a remote area on the peninsula of Jandía, a mysterious cemetery situated by the beach contributes to the mystery of it all. It is believed the villa’s tower served as a bearing point for submarines and airplanes landing at the nearby airfield at Punta Jandía. What was the purpose of constructing this villa in the middle of the wasteland with infertile soil? No one really knows…It is also believed that a cave system exists beneath the house provides a subterranean connection to the sea.

Here’s to spring coming back SOON!
