Best Time To Travel To Paphos

The season is quite long in Cyprus. The summer months from June to September are extremely hot and busy. If heat is not something you are used to nor the Mediterranean climate, it might be wise to travel just before or after the high season. Prices are lower when you visit off-season.

Where To Stay In Paphos

We chose to stay just outside the town of Paphos in an all-inclusive beach resort. If it's comfort you are after wanting to chillax while having everything within reach, especially if you are traveling with young kids, this is a good way to go!

Things we loved about this resort:

  • The all-inclusive arrangement at this hotel is awesome! It includes everything your heart desires from diverse food options to alcohol to snacks.

  • They have a fun water park on location for the young and old.

  • The location is central to exploring more of Cyprus.

  • The hotel is large, clean, beautiful and the service is very good.

10 X Thing To See And Do In Paphos, Cyprus!

  1. Enjoy the water and sunshine on the gorgeous beaches: You can get serious vitamin SEA here. Apart from tanning, there is a variety of water activities available. Jet skis, banana rides, fishing, diving, snorkeling, and of course cruising!
PRO TIP! Check out the Wave Dancer Cruise going out to the amazingly beautiful Blue Lagoon. There are also evening cruises going out offering dinner combined with fireworks!

  2. Going off-road using 4 by 4, quads, or buggies is a fun way to explore the area. Don’t miss out on discovering the Akamas Nature Reserve!
Beautiful scenic nature and is home to 160 different bird types. It is also a great viewing point from the top.

  3. Visit Lara bay: This is a protected beach where turtles come to lay their eggs. It is a magical beach and when in season, a phenomenal experience watching the little turtles hatch and head to the water.

  4. Visit the Bath of Aphrodite: This is the spot where the goddess Aphrodite together with Adonis used to bathe. The water is considered not only blessed, but it also promises those who wash here to come out looking younger, more beautiful. Hence my excitement. You can also visit the rock of Aphrodite in Petra Tou Romiou.

  5. Have lunch in Latchi: A small and very cozy fishing village.

  6. Spend a couple of hours in Paphos town. There is the old city, the harbor, the Roman theater and a nice boardwalk where you can enjoy drinks and traditional food.

  7. Taste local delicacies: Paphos has so much to offer food & wine-wise! You will find veggies, fish, seafood, and meat dishes in many forms.

The Halloumi cheese is a mixture of goat and sheep milk and is a must-try!
Two favorites of mine are the Tzatziki & Koupepia, stuffed vine leaves. Dishes my grandmother used to make for me. Try the Souvla, meat on skewers which are very popular. PRO TIP! To get the full experience of this kitchen, you can also order the Mezedes. This is a large selection of dishes served in small portions of varied foods, showcasing the different flavors and textures.

  8. Explore the treasures of the Troodos mountains: Nature trails, forests, waterfalls, and relaxation while admiring mother nature.

  9. Visit Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus: The city is divided into two parts- The Greek side and the Turkish side. For visitors, this is quite an extraordinary feeling. What is called the green line is the border going from East to West. You’ll find churches, mosques and interesting museums here.

  10. Walk the shipwreck trail in Paphos: One is on the road out towards Coral Bay next to the Capital Coast Hotel. This shipwreck is a cargo ship called the Demetrios 11.
The second is the Edro 2 stranded on the rocks off the coast of Paphos.
