Top 10 X Must-See Places In Cordoba
Explore the fascinating Jewish quarter: The Judería is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was once home to a large and thriving Jewish community. In 1492 King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella ordered the expulsion of Jews from Spain, this is also known as the Diaspora. This area is picturesque featuring cozy whitewashed homes typical for this region. It is loaded with a history dating back centuries.

Two highlights not to be missed here:
The synagogue: This impressive shul was built in 1315, after the Diaspora; it was converted into a church to be finally rediscovered in the 19th century. Today it is one of just three original synagogues remaining in the entire country! The synagogue is located at the heart of the neighborhood on Calle de Los Judios.
The statue of Maimonides: Maimonides was possibly the most influential Sephardic Jew in the middle ages; he was a Tora scholar, philosopher, and astronomer who was born here. You can find this honorary statue in Plaza Maimonides.

Visit Mezquita: Is it a church or is it a Mosque?... It's kind of both. This complex was built around 785 by a Muslim Emir on the ruins of a church, this is one of the oldest structures still standing today. It is a unique and beautiful example of Moorish-Islamic art and architecture.

Visit Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos ~ Castle of the Christian Monarchs: Serving as the headquarters of the Spanish Inquisition back in the day, this complex though dark historically speaking, is now bright and fascinating to explore. Manicured gardens, mosaics, and spectacular views of Cordoba.

Have a drink or a food break in Plaza de las Tendillas: Beautiful facades, a relaxed atmosphere, a fountain, and fun energy await you. All in all, it is a great spot to hang out for a bit, people watch and take a load off.
Visit the Chapel of San Bartolomé: This chapel dates back to the 14th century built in the traditional Mudéjar style.
See the Roman Temple: These impressive ancient Roman remains were discovered in the 1950s.
Visit Palacio de Viana: This stunning palace is home to magnificent buildings, art, architecture and gorgeously colorful gardens. It is possibly most famous for the 12 patios designed in the traditional Andalusian style.
Visit the Gourmet Mercado Victoria This market is a great place to sample Spanish as well as international cuisine; fish, seafood, cheeses, wine, and so much more!
There is a wide selection of museums in Cordoba depending on your personal interests, one recommendation from me to you is the Archaeological Museum: Funny enough it is located on an actual dig site. This museum is home to unique prehistoric artifacts, Moorish art, and many archaeological finds.
