When I think of Rome I think of iconic landmarks, ancient architecture, history in abundance, holy places, grandiose art, cozy squares to enjoy Italian coffee and the local cuisine, and those beautiful vibes! And if this is not enough to get you motivated to get on that plane, here are my absolute favorite places in Rome to inspire you even further!

  • Explore this grand city on foot. Everywhere you go in Rome beautiful architecture will surround you giving you that special feeling of time travel. It's so dynamic and vibrant and there's always something going on.

  • Rome is spectacular! Venture off the beaten track and you will discover more hidden gems, historic piazzas, markets, and lots of color!

Best 8 X Places In Rome

#1 The Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine

PRO TIP! Don't fall into the trap of taking photos with the people dressed in Roman outfits wandering around the Colosseum. The photos are outrageously expensive and once you posed, it will be almost impossible to get rid of them, without paying that is.

#2 The Pantheon: This monument was built as a Roman temple dedicated to the Gods of Pagan and is now a Catholic church. This landmark goes back 2,000 years, incredibly, it is still very much intact. What is so unique is the fact that there are no windows! The only light source is the oculus in the center of the dome. It's also where you'll find the tombs of Raphael, kings, and other iconic figures.

#3 No visit is complete without a visit to Vatican City! This is the tiniest state in the world however, it holds so much history, tradition, breathtaking architecture and art masterpieces, and of course a unique religious experience.

To name a few sites within this magnificent place; St.Peter's Square and the Basilica, the Sistine Chapel most famous for the stunning ceiling painted by Michael Angelo, and the Vatican Palace. There is a large choice of museums to choose from.

#8 The historic quarter of Rome is my favorite area to spend the day/evening. Here you'll find so many gems to admire as well as enjoying those lively piazzas built in Baroque style, perfect for an afternoon drink or a tasty meal.

Chilling in Piazza Navona and of course, the Spanish steps is wonderfully gorgeous!

Bonus: The shopping in this area is awesome!
